In addition to the general attributes, you have the following configuration options:

Configuration

The search configuration is divided into three tabs.

Attributes

Title	Select the Language using the dropdown menu. Add the corresponding Translation of the component. Confirm your entry with Add. You can delete your translation by clicking on .
Placeholder	Select the Language using the dropdown menu. Add the corresponding Translation of the component. Confirm your entry with Add. You can delete your translation by clicking on .
Title color	Choose a title color with the color picker or a HEX code.
Width in percentages	Define the width of the search in percentages.
Background image	Add information to add a background image.
Auto focus	Use the toggle to enable/disable the auto focus. If enabled, the search is automatically focused.
Enable live-search	Use the toggle to enable/disable the live search. If enabled, the search starts automatically when writing in the search field. If disabled, the search starts after the user clicks enter.

Resources

Create new resource

You have the following options:

Language/Translation	Select the language and the corresponding translation of the category. Confirm your entry with the icon.
Target	Add the target URL/path of the resource and define the request method: `GET`: request data from the defined resource `POST`: send data to create/update a resource Define a key and value. Click on to add another key and value. Delete a key and value by clicking on the
Enabled on the following devices	Defines on which device the resource is enabled. Notice Enabled resources are always displayed and clickable. `ALL`: Enabled on all devices. This is the default setting. `DESKTOP`: Only enabled on desktops. `MOBILE`: Only enabled on mobile devices.
Allowed for the following roles	The roles entered define who can see the component/item. You can choose between the available roles via the drop-down menu or add roles manually. To do so type in the name of the role and confirm the entry. Important Roles must be inserted individually and are case sensitive. These two roles are available by default: `usu:portal:USER` `usu:portal:ADMIN` The `ADMIN` role contains the `USER` role.

Click on Add to create the new resource.

In the lower area you can see and edit existing resources.

You can delete an existing resources by clicking on the Icon .

Following information are available as variable and can be used as substitution variable e. g. in search dashlet greetings:

When using a search, the listener allows the Chatbot to respond automatically if it can help with the topic.

The chatbot offers his help via a message. The user can then click on the Chatbot to open it and use it accordingly.

The availability of this feature depends on the USU Chatbot version used.

The feature needs a USU Knowledge Center 7.3 and a configured USU Chatbot 2.9 installed and connected to USU Portal.

This feature is automatically available if a chatbot and a search is configured on a portal page.
